Hanasay New for Humanitarian Assistance is a leading Iraqi non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering resilience, empowerment, and hope within communities across Iraq.
Our name, "Hanasay New," symbolizes renewal and the beginning of positive transformation, reflecting our deep commitment to driving meaningful change.
With a strong focus on women's empowerment, support for individuals with special needs, refugee assistance, and climate action, we work to address some of Iraq's most pressing challenges. Through sustainable initiatives, advocacy, and community-driven programs, we strive to build a more inclusive, just, and resilient future for all.
History
A Story of Hope and Transformation: The Journey of Hanasay New
Hanasay New for Humanitarian Assistance is a pioneering Iraqi NGO committed to fostering resilience, empowerment, and hope. The organization drives change through Women, Peace, and Security (WPS), youth empowerment, climate action, peacebuilding, and technology-driven development.

2015
A group of passionate volunteers — including academics, doctors, and professionals — came together in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to address the urgent needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and Syrian refugees.

2017
The organization focused on providing emergency health care, education, and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) in response to the humanitarian crisis.

2018
Established makeshift clinics, emergency education programs, and support groups, focusing on the most vulnerable populations — including women, children, and families affected by the ongoing conflict.

2019
The organization became an advocate for disability inclusion, ensuring that people with disabilities were not left behind in Iraq's recovery efforts.

2020
Hanasay New implemented a robust MEAL framework to assess the impact of its programs.

Developed specialized programs, including training for local service providers, to ensure they could meet the needs of individuals with disabilities.
